Why appease to the masses? The crowded jumbled mess of contradictions The made up prophecies The branding, the fake laughing A wine glass clangs for each lie spoken Spinning in circles Until dizzy and disoriented Like a train on a never ending bend Disheartened youth, heads to the ground The dry adulthood doom, sucks once starry eyed souls, dry Crying to the sky, there has to be more Man with no name, it's attention he craves A distant memory in a faded album of vanished past All this extra baggage, the bell boy awaits Now standing, empty handed Stripped of all possessions All that remains is guilt, and pain 💭 A little background to this poem. I constantly witness this, people are so afraid to offend, or say anything of their own thoughts for fear it will be rejected. When appeasing to everyone, we'll lose ourselves in turn. We must be true to ourselves. If we try to be something we are not, we'll end up empty, lacking substance or any depth at all. So don't be scared to ask questions, open up conversation, debate, and let that spark of curiosity turn to flames, engulfing everyone around you with wonder, making them ponder so much deeper! ❤
